Highlights of a rainy day
Braving the elements… or not!
9am. A few drops of rain won’t stop sports enthusiasts. So gear up for a run through the woods and on to Cancha Bay Park, to discover that very special smell of the rain. Your exercise session might be rather wet, but it’ll make you feel great for the rest of the day. If you’re not quite that brave, then head for the thalassotherapy centre, or one of the resort’s spas or beauty salons.
A shopping spree to stay out of the rain
11am. After a coffee at the counter of one of Le Touquet’s bars, go shopping at the indoor market, the perfect place to be in rainy weather… You’ll also find your favourite food retailers here. So grab an umbrella and walk, unless of course you prefer to take the car, as you’ll find plenty of parking spaces in the town centre. You’ll receive a warm welcome, plus a few ideas and handy cooking tips from our retailers, as well as shelter from the rain.
Lunch is ready!
12.30pm. Rain never spoiled a good meal. So turn the morning’s purchases into a delicious lunch, or heat up a Pérard red-label fish soup, for example. Or you can go to a restaurant for a meat dish, grilled fish, or a beef or fish tartare. We recommend you choose one of the set menus proposed by many of the restaurants at lunchtime.
The art of self-pampering
An afternoon indoors
2.30pm. The perfect excuse to go to the cinema! But if you don’t like what’s screening, then a great alternative is the museum, where you’ll discover art collections or the latest exhibition. Not forgetting the multimedia library where you can enjoy a good read. Prefer board games? Escale au Touquet is a good one to play with family or friends and, basically, an original way to discover the resort during a moment of togetherness.
Me me me
5pm. Fancy having your hair done? Or going for a treatment at a spa centre or beauty salon? While shopping, don’t forget your friends and family who will appreciate a souvenir of Le Touquet. For example, chocolates, biscuits, fish soup, a photo on canvas, a fashion accessory or a decorative item. You’ll be spoilt for choice at our shops numbering 400 or so.
Rain doesn’t stop the nightlife
7.30pm. At last it’s time to get together for a long, pleasant evening enjoying the culinary delights of Le Touquet. Drinks with friends, followed by a seafood platter for dinner, for example, before dancing the night away at a nightclub or moving on to one of the resort’s two casinos! “Place your bets”, and have a good night out in Le Touquet.
